If you know you love the desert and you’ve decided that you want to elope in Joshua Tree but you’re not sure what your elopement day could look like this post is for you. I’ve put together 3 sample timelines below, one for a 4 hour elopement, one for an 8 hour elopement, and one for a multi day elopement to help you visualize what the experience could look like. These timelines are just examples to get you to start dreaming about the experience you want to have so don’t worry if none seem absolutely perfect – if you hire me the actual timeline I will create for you will reflect your exact needs, interests, and personalities!

4 Hour Elopement Timeline
This example timeline is centered around golden hour/sunset in the fall when the sun sets around 6pm.
2:30pm: We’ll start with getting ready at your hotel/airbnb where we can have some fun blasting music, getting hair/make up done, getting dressed, sipping champagne, and getting all the fun candid shots and detail shots along the way.
3:30pm: First look and private vow exchange before the ceremony. We’ll get some portraits around the property as well.
4:30pm: Drive over to the park and find our ceremony location and parking.
5:00pm: Ceremony among the Joshua Trees.
5:30pm: Golden hour and sunset portraits and photos with guests if you have any. We can also do something celebratory like cake cutting, a small picnic, or anything else you want to do to commemorate the occasion.
6:30pm: Wrap up and head out of the park!

8 Hour Elopement Timeline
This timeline gives us the opportunity to include a few more activities along with a beautiful ceremony around sunset!
12:00pm: We’ll start off at your airbnb and take a dip in the pool to relax and celebrate before your big day! We’ll play music, have some drinks, and have a little pool party to lean into the celebratory vibes.
1:00pm: Start getting ready and do some fun candids and detail shots.
2:30pm: First look and portraits around the property all dressed up.
3:00pm: Drive into the park and head towards an easy hiking trail. Explore some of the park and take in the scenery and the quiet of the desert.
5:00pm: Time for your ceremony! This puts the ceremony right around golden hour which will create beautiful lighting in the desert. After the ceremony we’ll take some portraits or photos with guests as well.
6:00pm: Head out of the park and back to your airbnb for a celebratory dinner with a private chef. We’ll take a few photos and then I’ll let you enjoy your time together.
8:00pm: We’ll wrap up with a few stargazing/campfire photos outside under the night sky before parting ways.

Multi Day Elopement
This timeline is best for couples who want to make the most of their time out in Joshua Tree and also have more downtime built into their elopement. This is also a great option for couples who want guests involved but also want to have some experiences just the two of them.
Day 1:
11:00am: Getting ready at your airbnb/hotel. Once ready we’ll also do a first look and any other photos you want done here.
1:00pm: Head into the park and to the ceremony location.
1:30pm: Daytime ceremony at the location of your choosing and couple’s portraits/family photos afterwards.
3:00pm: Head out of the park, break for the rest of the afternoon.
6:00pm: Celebratory dinner under the sunset with guests or just the two of you.
8:00pm: Wrap up with some starry night photos and head our separate ways.
Day 2:
5:30am: Meet at the park for sunrise photoshoot.
6:30am: Set out on a hiking trail and explore more of the park, take a jeep tour around the park, or drive around on your own to different spots.
9:30am: Head back to your airbnb
10:00am: Relaxing pool party to end the weekend!
12:00pm: Wrap up and part ways.
